!?! PT 3
Question meme because I broke or have almost broken some milestones with my characters! Crown at 9K comments (not all kyr), Yukine for 6K, and Caretaker almost 1k! Ask me anything and everything. I will answer to the best of my ability, yushuyushu.

Clover, along with Ochre, is one of the people on Tiamat that Caretaker actually feels like he can relate to. With Ochre, it's shared interests because he is a kind of a weird giant mum who wants to mother those he likes endlessly, but with Clover he feels that he relates more with her mindset and her world. Clover feels familiar to him in very good way! She's a very strong person, doesn't have a lot of leeway for nonsense, both gentle and firm depending on the situation, and incredibly reliable. She embodies many traits that Caretaker finds to be admirable. He is currently trying (perhaps too hard) to figure out what she likes and what he can make happen for her because he really wants to make Tiamat happy.
Somehow, he holds Clover to a little higher regard than the others but that's likely from his own bias. He is very fond of her and respects her. It was such a big deal for him when she told him about the date because he felt like he got to get in on a secret! He is hoping to spend more time with her even if it's just to provide somewhere nice to lay.

Clover's thoughts on Caretaker tho, they have gone from just sort of neutral/ok this is our patron I will learn to trust him to actually caring about him! It's obviously a new thing and she's working on it but he just seems. Generally nice to her and is nice to her and it throws her off because she's dumb. You would think she would be used to it but no, no she doesn't understand why anyone's nice to her but I digress.
She also feels a connection with him re: similar worlds and mindsets! What he said about paying dues really clicked with her; it's how she feels regarding a lot of her life it was like "Okay, he gets it, he understands, he's cool". It's little things like that that really click with her and get her to open up some, even if it's on an entirely different topic such as a date.

Caretaker won't tell anyone about the date! He doesn't. . . really talk about stuff. He is more like a vault of secrets and generally assumes if someone else is supposed to know another's business then they would have spoken of it themselves. He's kind of weird on that front because he is also the kind to bottle up his own issues.
He also believes fairly strongly in things like paying dues. He believes that things usually happen for a reason and that reason is generally the result of one's actions so if you do the thing, you gotta brace yourself for the consequence of the thing. Unfortunately, that means he isn't very good at handling people who get very "woe is me, i obviously did nothing to deserve this", but he tends to just not say anything. He is really bad at being affectionate and supportive and a lot of things WHICH IS WHY HE IS TRYING SO PAINFULLY HARD WITH TIAMAT with the food and the energy. The rubbing is real though. He can't help that. It's all instinct and it's mega embarrassing.
Annnd he's also kind of just. Shitty. At accepting "NO I AM NOT A HIDEOUS THING AND PEOPLE DO APPRECIATE MY PRESENCE".
OH MY GOD. Yes. Absolutely. He could bury her in fur.

Clover is kind of the same way in that if it's none of her business she isn't going to talk about it. She doesn't go out of her way to make things her business either, Tiamat notwithstanding cuz it's her team and if there's something going on she'd like to know (jiiiiiiis at Tiamat)
But omg Caretaker pls you don't have to try hard with them they're all just dumb shounens. EVEN THE GIRLS ARE they're just more idk subdued about it. But yeah she's also very, mm . . . "well I did this, I may as well pay for it down the line" which is p. much how she lived her life, "I have become this terrible person and I will pay for it somehow but until then I gotta kill a dude first" but i'm not going to tl;dr oh god no. TL;DR CARETAKER AND CLOVER ARE SURPRISINGLY ALIKE AND THAT'S FRIGHTENING.
