[ VISIBILITY ]
What this means is that without extended and regular contact, gods and their shinki will fade from the memories of those around them. Within days, humans can forget them entirely or remember someone else in their place. Thankfully, those memories will return upon reunion but only if an extended period hasn't passed. For example, someone who hasn't been in touch for a month will be able to remember, but someone who hasn't been in touch for a year will forget entirely ★.
Of course, actively trying to remember them will definitely extend the time they can spend apart. Things such as photos, videos, texts, and etc can help with retaining the memories.
[ RETROSPEC ]
For users of Retrospec, things are a little more forgiving. Due to a glitch, users are able to retain memories of gods and shinki for much longer periods of time. While it takes longer for memories to fade, the memories will still be forgotten if there has been no contact for months.
There are no exceptions to this—unless you were an exception to begin with. Even the most spiritually inept will be able to hear spirits and recognise vague outlines of them.
UPDATE: As of March 7th, resonance is now in effect. Simply put, this means that even the most spiritually inept will not only be able to hear them but also recognise a faint outline of them.

[ ADDITIONAL NOTES ]
Gods and shinki smell incredibly good to evil spirits, known as ayakashi, or other things of a similar nature. Additionally, if it's relevant to how your character senses ghosts, he would register as something divine.
★ This applies only to the memories of Yukine as a shinki. Memories made from when Yukine was mortal won't fade. Meaning that after an extended time period, characters will forget that Yukine still exists as a spirit. If too long passes, they won't be able to recognise him as the same Yukine who died.

SPIRITUAL SENSITIVITY: High. Out of everyone in canon, he's the one with the super special type of connection to the Dragon Stream which makes him especially sensitive to, as well as a conduit for chi. Basically, if there's a spirit there, he can sense it and its state.
NOTES: Tatsuma can also just generally sense people and things and their status (e.g. sensing a friend is being attacked spiritually from a distance, enough to book it to catch her before she collapses, but also being able to notice if a person is nearby without looking), so in the same...ish vein, would he be able to notice Yukine appears to be dead, but isn't quite like the normal ghosties he sees around?

If you think (or want to headcanon) that Matt can sense something from him other than sound when he talks or moves a separate object, say an extremely subtle temperature drop where his spirit body is, then let me know. Otherwise I'll play it as his presence being a total blank physically.

Because of that, I think it's plausible for him to sense Yukine! Probably as an extra warm presence since Yukine has been described as comforting and natural (as a servant to the gods). He'd definitely read differently than humans combined with the whole no heartbeat thing.

SPIRITUAL SENSITIVITY: Exception? Elda's "spiritual sense" is actually not very high personally, so she can't like detect ghosts and this might also affect the memory thing.
However, in Karin ghosts/spirits/whatever are just sort of a fact of life that anyone seems to be able to see, hear, and interact with as long as the ghost wants. Vampires (like her) especially seem to just always see and interact with them if they're there/a complex being. I've regained that as her ability to see ghosts so in the moment he should look real/there and be interact-able for her? But by the same token she wouldn't necessarily sense he's a ghost unless there's visual/auditory cues. ... Or I guess if he doesn't have blood to smell.

NOTES: Sorey is the vessel for several divine spirits, including something like the god of a continent???? Zestiria is wild.
He also has the power of purification. He can't purify an entirely turned dragon or a guy who farts evil, but he can purify many other seraphim, people, and plants/animals that have fallen beneath the influence of malevolence. Whether this could ever apply to Yukine's canon is of course up to you, especially since he's only had it since October.
