despite the obvious miscommunication regarding cake, yukine takes her inside the shop to purchase some cake to share and an extra piece for her mother for the sake of being an appreciative guest. thankfully, it doesn't take them long to get in and out—just like yukine had promised—and after their brief delay, they're well on their way towards anya's house. most of the trip so far has been yukine showing anya an assortment of photos he'd taken on his phone.

this one in particular is a fat calico cat. )

Okay, okay, see this one? This is the calico who lives somewhere in the neighbourhood. She's someone's pet, but she travels around anyway.

[she's been making varying cat noises at his phone with every new picture, just so you know. Sometimes it's nya, sometimes it's meow, sometimes it's whatever noise cats make in Russia and sometimes it's just Anya perfectly mimicking a purring sound.]

We are almost to my house - you will meet my cat! His name is Polaris.
