He's incredibly stressed out and unhappy about this turn of events. The thing about Yukine is that he's incredibly self aware, he knows exactly what he is and the idea of a relationship stressed him out entirely before he had even started to develop feelings towards Alya. He judged Obsidian and Silver for "making the mistake" of being in a relationship together in a place like this where everything and anything could happen at any moment. There's so much risk involved, especially as far as someone getting stuck in an echo realm or in the pods or just not being able to go back home to the same place—something he had no idea could ever happen at all until Belt told him about it during a game when she was talking about her own history. He was also judging towards Panther when a memory flower came up and showed some other losers in a relationship BECAUSE WHY THO. IT JUST SEEMED WEIRD.
He did loosen up towards the idea when Alya dokis came into play because Alya is super affectionate and even gave him a very dramatic confession. SERIOUSLY, ALYA IS VERY AFFECTIONATE. This is the guy who always holds his hand, lays up with him in nestbuds, and all kinds of very endearing things. There was probably no hope at all for Yukine when it comes to not eventually developing feelings towards him. He finally said something to him in the spur of the moment after talking to Sakura and he was kind of like OKAY WHATEVER. FUCK EVERYTHING. GONNA SAY THE THING. Then he said the thing. The only reason he said the thing was because Alya knows GOOD AND WELL what he is (dead & serving a god) and Alya DOES NOT CARE WHATSOEVER. Alya has actually punched him for being all mopey about it. They are very good for each other in terms of trying to quell nasty habits.
THEN LIKE TWO DAYS INTO DATING ALYA, HIYORI CONFESSES IN THE MIDDLE OF A TRAUMA GAME AND HE NEARLY HAS A STROKE.
THE HIYORI CONFESSION IS SUPER PROBLEMATIC FOR HIM because HE DOES FEEL STRONGLY FOR HER because she is hiyori. She has done so much from him, the memory that Nightingale saw was Yukine being at HIS ABSOLUTE LOWEST POINT, and Hiyori didn't shy away from him. Yato also didn't abandon him. SO THAT MEMORY when he got it was the start of finally feeling positively towards Yato in kyr and then they did some memshares! WHERE HE GOT HIT IN THE FACE WITH YATO'S FEELINGS FOR HIYORI. So, as his shinki, he's going to try his ABSOLUTE BEST TO MAKE SURE YATO DOESN'T FIND OUT (oocly I'd also like that to avoid love triangles since yato is becoming a parental figure, albeit a very poor one). SO REALLY HER CONFESSION JUST STRESSED HIM OUT A LOT even though he's so happy to hear that she loves him because... while he would like to be with Hiyori and THAT WOULD BE GREAT there are some clear issues with that:
1.) he is dead.
2.) he will always be dead.
3.) hiyori is going to get older & eventually die. yukine will not. he will always be as he is now.
4.) yato feels more strongly for her (while yukine's feelings are closer to familiar with some confusing elements).
5.) he has nothing to offer her whatsoever.
6.) hiyori deserves to be happy.
TL;dr, HE LOVES HIYORI AND WANTS HER TO BE HAPPY. ESPECIALLY IF IT IS WITH A MORTAL AND NOT ONE OF THEM. god, anyone but yato pls.

but nightingale has feelings for at least three people right now, and we think roc is going to ask out natalie on nightingale's behalf because she's chickening out like a dumbshit

I look forward to how Nightingale and Natalie turns out though. Kisskisskiss. C: I'm just always happy for lady/lady relationships because I rarely get to see them played out.
He does have feelings about polygamy, hilariously enough!! I'm laughing because he had already discussed it with Alya in regards to Hiyori for him and Ophi for Alya. They talked about it here where the verdict was that they were both kind of against it because of loyalty issues. If you wanted to date two people at once then you probably didn't actually like them all that much or at least that's how he feels about it. He also implies that he doesn't want to be Hiyori's boyfriend there as well. HE FELT THIS WHOLE THING WAS SUPER CLEARCUT THEN.
He's not. . . sure anymore because WHAT DO. WHAT DO. I'm also not entirely sure what route he may take because he doesn't talk to anyone about any-fucking-thing until he feels it's important to do. THIS KID NEEDS ADVICE. A LOT OF IT.

I'd like to build up her confidence more! My ultimate goal before I good end her is to build her up into a healthy person who can handle failure like a reasonable person, and who can be confident in herself and have a healthy self-worth. Also shipping is important.
I also really want her to level up? like, i know that's a weird goal considering RP. but i think it would be really fun to play with her getting stronger, emotionally and physically. it would be a very fun arc.
if she could like. actually become a leader type for tak i would love that but i'm not sure how possible it is.

HAHA no, actually that's a very good goal. I have a very similar one for Yukine that I want to work towards putting forth.
I'm nnnot entirely sure how well they could work, so I'm iffy on a lot of ideas that I have. I keep meaning to attempt to run a test game to see well I could even manage to run a game in the first place! Ideally, I want him to run games that expose individual team weaknesses and help them build towards making them stronger.
I ALSO WANT TO RUN GAMES WHERE INSTEAD OF TEAMS, it's just a bunch of random people thrown in and forced to work together. I just want to try things that we don't normally get to do with games without him running anything too stressful for them. BUT ON THE FLIP SIDE, I also want a game that gets out of hand and he starts to cry like a big baby over it.

... honestly, no. She might be able to come to a point where she could deal with him, but that would require basically an immediate 180 on his part, to be respectful and good and basically never slip up ever. Roc's memories, and judging from plurk, her upcoming memories, have basically shit the bed far too much- she has been given the impression that Yato does not respect Hiyori at all, and this pisses her off immensely. She thinks he's a pretty shitty person! Like, she saw the thing with Yukine and the sins, but here's the important kicker:
she doesn't understand what happened there at all. It was all from Hiyori's PoV, and Hiyori didn't understand anything, and things like... all of that are totally non-existent in Nightingale's world. So without understanding that, all she knows is that there was intense danger, Yato might have done good? But she still thinks he's only after banging Hiyori and doesn't really care for or respect her.
But wait, there's more!
Another important note is that in Nightingale's world, all the gods are dead- specifically, people very specifically and very intentionally killed all their gods. Nightingale- and most kids in her world- are raised on stories of the ancient heroes who killed the gods. Because in her world, gods are uniformly evil, and the only out-of-there experience she has with actual gods is from Bluebird's memories... which were the NPCs of Sabra who were basically lying torturing murderous fuckshits, in her eyes. So Yato's status as a god makes her automatically convinced he's completely evil, too.
(The life cycle of a god in her world goes something like: People require a god over some sort of aspect of their civilization to help. A god is formed to answer the needs of the people. However, a god cannot change its purpose, and will go out of their way to bar progress of people that would render the gods' domain obsolete, until the gods have to be killed for the sake of progressing. The best example I have is the first god in their world was the god of the hunt, for hunter/gatherer peoples. when people first started to develop agriculture, the god was furious and tried to block this wherever possible, even though hunting and gathering alone can't support their population anymore, so people had to go kill this god so humanity could enter the next era. then a couple centuries later a new god is needed, repeat.)
so basically what i'm getting at here is, the ingrained knowledge of gods in nightingale's mind is:
1) evil and awful and do terrible things for their own egos
2) incapable of change
So combined those with what Yato has done to Hiyori in the memories and what a creepy fuck he is, she's never going to like him, and never going to be convinced he's anything but awful, and at best could only tolerate him for Roc as long as he's nothing but kind and respectful to her.
So do Yukine and Ren have different feelings towards Yato?

It's actually my priority to end things before there could be a love triangle between the three of them. Some of the seed for that has already been planted thanks to various talks with Ren, and seeing how much Yukine was hurting during the purification ceremony (from how deeply he wanted things he couldn't have) so if she gets the inkling that what she's doing is hurting him (which is... idk, I mean, it depends on him mostly, but she's super perceptive about that kind of thing, so it could be as soon as their next thread or two??), she'll probably try to cut it off as gently as possible. Either that or it will happen via shards. It might take some time for her IC feelings to fade but with shard regain that shouldn't really be all that long.
OOCLY, I don't want there to be any danger of triangles either because that would make things too problematic for all three of them and trying to repair the... not-quite-broken-but-sort-of-mangled-and-dilapidated bridges. I would also like to see Relya grow because holy squidoodles they are cute together. So. I'll be out of your hair just as soon as feasibly possible!!!
